Simi Valley History
Southern California had a big fire problem in October 2003.
It was unusaully hot for the time of year and many fires
spread rapidly in a short time. We have pictures of the Simi Valley

The Chumash Indians lived in Simi Valley not long ago.
Some say that Simi comes from the name of their Chumash Indian Village.
Corriganville is the location where parts of The Lone Ranger, Zorro, Wild Bill Hickcock,
and Wyatt Earp where filmed.
The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum, put in danger because of fires in late October 2003,
is located in Simi Valley.
Much of the TV series, Little House on the Prairie was filmed in Simi Valley
at The Big Sky Ranch. This California set
doubled as Walnut Grove, Minnesota.
