The LA Arboretum and the Santa Anita Race TrackThe Arboretum has long been used by Hollywood for television and movies. The tv series Fantasy Island was filmed at the Arboretum in Arcadia. Many of the Tarzan movies were filmed at the Arboretum.Arcadia is also famous for the Santa Anita Racetrack. SeaBiscuit starring Tobey Maguire and Jeff Bridges was filmed at the Santa Anita Racetrack. Jeff Bridges was no stranger to the area as he used to go to Santa Anita with his grandfather. Bridges played businessman Charles Howard who put his money behind a a troubled jockey, a crooked-legged racehorse, and an older trainer. Tobey Maguire played the part of the oversized jockey. Garey Stevens who is a jockey in real life helps out with the film.
